TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Closed from Saturday 31 October 2026 - Reopening Saturday 7 November 2026
Oban Airport will be temporarily closed from Saturday 31 October, following the final scheduled flight, and will reopen on Saturday 7 November 2026 to allow for essential infrastructure improvements.
The works will include the construction of a new taxiway connection to the runway and upgrades to the airfield ground lighting (AGL).
These improvements form part of the wider Oban Airport Business Park development and will provide runway access to the new permanent Search and Rescue (SAR) base.
Following approval from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the works have been scheduled to take place before winter weather conditions deteriorate. Contractors will be working around the clock to minimise the duration of the closure.
All scheduled flights during the closure period will be cancelled. Emergency services helicopter operations will continue under special arrangements.
We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience caused and thank airport users and the local community for their patience and understanding while these improvements are carried out.
